Paris' Black Ty Affair

Paris for the win! Paris' Black Ty affair is a beautiful combination of his dam and sire. Ty has a solid balanced conformation (good bone, short back and longer legs) and an upright presence. Ty has the same run-way model conformation as his dam and maternal great grand dam and grand dam, that "look at me" kind of attitude, and consistent pencil locks from nose to tail.

A very wise alpaca breeder/judge told me years ago that the strength of a show stopping herdsire comes from his dam line, and Ty's lineage is filled with show stopping females. Ty's great grand dam on his maternal side was part of our first foundation herd. Lorraine (highly penciled lustrous white) was winning in the white show ring in those days against males and females. She took two grand championships before she started her breeding career. Her daughter, London (Ty's grand dam), spitting image of her dam in true black also took 2nd in Black Yearling Females and first in Owner's Best Bred and Owned at GWAS 2007. Ty's dam, Paris (light silver gray) has been wowing in the fiber arena. The commonalities on Ty's maternal side are a solid upright conformation, highly penciled lustrous fiber, and excellent coverage.

Ty's paternal dam lineage is just as impressive. Ty's great granddam was also part of our foundation herd, a very lustrous tightly locked with over the sky coverage in light fawn. Summerwind's Symphony, a Uribe daughter (my favorite Accoyo lineage), had good bone, extreme coverage and tightly twisted locks. It was not a surprise that she and Sandusky produced a limited-edition female like Melody. Melody has the coverage usually reserved for only the most elite herdsires, with tightly locked fiber from day one and blinding luster. Melody and Bachelor (an Aureo descendant who stamped a great head on his offspring) produced Rosemont, Ty's sire. Rosemont has the coverage of his dam and her blinding luster with the fineness of his sire. Rosemont also boasts extreme fineness, of which he has maintained with age. At nine years old, Rosemont is still 21 microns.

Both of Ty's parents and Ty were winners in the fiber show circuit this past year with very impressive fineness and luster scores. We are anxious to have Ty put his stamp on our herd this year and look forward to seeing the strength of his gray genetics.
